Fill in a PDF form and keep it private.

Tax forms, applications and medical intake sheets are full of personal details. Paperwing fills them in on your computer, so those details never touch a website.

How to fill out PDF forms with Paperwing

  1. Open Paperwing and drop your PDF on the window, or press Ctrl+O (⌘O on a Mac).
  2. Open All tools and choose Fill a form (under E-Sign), or search for “form”.
  3. Click each field and type your answers.
  4. Tick boxes, choose options and add your signature with Fill & Sign if the form asks for one.
  5. To stop the answers being changed later, run Flatten PDF.
  6. The result opens in a new tab and your original stays untouched. Press Ctrl+S to save it, or Shift+Ctrl+S to save a copy.

Questions

The PDF has no fields. Can I still fill it in?

Yes. Use Fill & Sign or a text box from the toolbar to type anywhere on the page, or build real fields with Create PDF Form.

What is an XFA form?

An older type of interactive form, common in government and tax documents, that many PDF apps can’t open. Paperwing’s form filler supports it.
